Hugh “Lanny Gee” Warren is a resilient overachiever, entrepreneur, and influential media personality whose legacy spans business, entertainment, and community impact. A proud alumnus of Saint Andrew Technical High School (Class of 1979), where he served as Captain of the hockey team, Lanny Gee has consistently demonstrated leadership, discipline, and excellence from an early age.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and later migrating to the United States, he built a life rooted in ambition and purpose. In 2001, he established Lanny Gee Motors Inc., solidifying his presence as a successful entrepreneur. Over the years, he became widely recognized as a premier event producer and promoter behind signature experiences such as Lanny Gee’s Annual Black & White Affair, All White Nyam & Jam, Vintage Soul, and Colors Affair—events that brought communities together and created lasting cultural moments.
In 2007, Lanny Gee expanded his influence into media, where he co-founded WB Worldwide Media Group 93.5FM-WVIPNY alongside his brother, David Warren, serving as Executive Producers. Together, they built “The Innovative Sound for People on the Move,” a platform that amplified Caribbean culture and connected audiences across the airwaves.
He continued to build his broadcasting presence as the host of Mixx102.com, an internet radio station where he connected with a global audience through signature shows like Mushy Makeout Mondays and Showtime Wednesdays, delivering music, culture, and engaging conversation.
His accomplishments extended into entertainment, including honoring reggae legend Ken Boothe on his 60th birthday, collaborating with VEP Productions on a comedy special featuring Ity and Fancy Cat, and making his acting debut in The Jamaican Mafia. He also created the long-running “Celebrity Sundays” social networking mixer in New Jersey, all while maintaining a distinguished career as a Coach Operator with Coach USA, reflecting his unmatched work ethic and dedication.
Lanny Gee’s contributions have earned him numerous accolades. He was a recipient of the Image Entertainment Distinction Award in 2014 for his impact on the reggae entertainment industry and was formally recognized by the New Jersey General Assembly with an official Assembly Resolution honoring his lifelong contributions to entertainment, entrepreneurship, and community service. Most recently, he received the Promoter of the Year 2025 award from the GrownPlussexi Promoters Awards, celebrating over two decades of excellence in community engagement and event production.
